Bicolline launches official fundraiser after the fire: “Today, we rise again. Together.”
The official fundraiser for the reconstruction of the Duché de Bicolline is now online.
After the fire that destroyed 22 buildings in the Historic Quarter on the night of April 25, 2026, the Bicolline community has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the reconstruction of the affected structures.
In its social media post, Bicolline recalls how it all began thirty years ago: a group of passionate players started building something that existed nowhere else in North America. Board by board. Guild by guild. Season by season.
What the fire destroyed in just a few hours was not only a group of buildings. It was thirty years of effort, memory, and shared identity.
A wound for one of the world’s largest LARP communities
The Duché de Bicolline, located in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, Québec, is one of the most iconic places in the international LARP scene. It is not simply a temporary event site, but a permanent village built over the years by its community.
Its streets, buildings, guild quarters, and shared spaces are an essential part of the experience. For many participants, Bicolline is not just a place where people go to play: it is a home, a collective memory, and an important part of their personal and group history.
For this reason, the fire in the Historic Quarter has deeply affected not only the local players, but the wider international LARP community.
The official fundraiser
The GoFundMe campaign is dedicated to rebuilding the buildings destroyed by the fire.
According to Bicolline, every donation, regardless of amount, will go directly toward rebuilding the affected structures. The funds will be overseen by an independent committee made up of representatives from the damaged buildings.
The message from the community is clear:
“Today, we rise again. Together.”
