Nach der kirchlichen Trauung treffen sich die Hochzeitsgäste im Familienanwesen der Braut. Dort wird auf das Brautpaar angestoßen und gefeiert. Die Familie der Braut Guliette La Rossa, deren Vater das Oberhaupt der bedeutenden Mafia-Familie La Rossa ist. Diese beschäftigt sich vor allem mit der Herstellung und dem Schmuggel von Substanzen und Tieren. Der Bräutigam Joseppe Moretti ist ein kleiner Fisch, der für die Familie schmuggelt.
