~~ Tło Fabularne ~~

Zbliża się Noc Czarowników. Święto, które celebruje zwycięstwo czystej mocy Pani Jeziora nad plugawą czarną magią oraz wspomina zwycięstwo podczas bitwy pod Gisoreux. Robione są kukły symbolizujące czarowników, które potem kobiety wrzucają do wielkich ognisk.
Jest to też noc gdy ciemne moce są wyjątkowo potężne, a Morrslieb jaśnieje na niebie swym plugawym blaskiem. Wieś Chandelier to jedna z najdalej wysuniętych na zachód osad pod panowaniem rodu Roche Renard, niedaleko już stąd do Smoczego Wodospadu, gdzie panują nieumarli. W tę noc i tak na co dzień niebezpieczne rejony stają się jeszcze bardziej groźne. Zbłąkane dusze chodzą po świecie śmiertelnym, pojedynczy nieumarli wyrywają się z granic Smoczego Wodospadu, a orkowie wzmagają swe ataki.
Ostatnimi czasy w okolicy zaczęła grasować tajemnicza Bestia. Chociaż do tej pory nikt jej nie widział, a przynajmniej nikt żywy, znajdowano rozszarpane na strzępy truchła czarnych orków, samotnych pasterzy i leśnych zwierząt. Ataki Bestii stają się coraz częstsze wraz z tym, jak zbliża się Noc Czarowników.
W tych okolicznościach mieszkańcy okolicznych wiosek ściągnęli do Chandelier, licząc na bezpieczeństwo jej drewnianych murów. W swej łasce Panowie pozwolili nawet na schronienie się najmłodszych dzieci za murami najbliższego zamku, jednak wielu musiało pozostać na miejscu, lub też nie chciało opuścić swoich domów, wierząc, że zakończenie świątecznych obrządków odegna złe siły.
Chłopi nie zostali jednak zupełnie pozostawieni sami. Do wsi przybył też niewielki oddział, podobno na rozkaz samego Markiza, by wesprzeć chłopów i spróbować upolować tajemniczą Bestię. Przybyło również dwóch kapłanów, jeden Taala, a drugi Goulpesa, oferując wsparcie i błogosławieństwa w tą mroczną noc...

~~ Background Story ~~

The Night of Sorcerers is approaching. A holiday that celebrates the victory of the pure power of the Lady of the Lake over foul black magic and commemorates the victory during the Battle of Gisoreux. Effigies symbolizing sorcerers are made, which women then throw into large bonfires.
It is also a night when dark forces are especially powerful, and Morrslieb shines in the sky with its foul light. The village of Chandelier is one of the westernmost settlements under the rule of the Roche Renard family, not far from Dragon Falls, where the undead reign. On this night, dangerous areas become even more dangerous. Stray souls wander the mortal world, single undead break free from the borders of the Dragon Falls, and orcs intensify their attacks.
Recently, a mysterious Beast has begun to prowl the area. Although no one has seen it so far, at least no one alive, the carcasses of black orcs, lonely shepherds and forest animals have been found torn to shreds. The Beast's attacks become more frequent as the Night of the Witches approaches. Under these circumstances, the inhabitants of the surrounding villages flock to Chandelier, counting on the safety of its wooden walls. In their grace, the Lords even allowed the youngest children to hide behind the walls of the nearest castle, but many had to stay where they were or did not want to leave their homes, believing that the end of the holiday rituals would drive away the evil forces.
However, the peasants were not completely left alone. A small unit also arrived in the village, apparently on the orders of the Marquis himself, to support the peasants and try to hunt the mysterious Beast. Two priests also arrived, one of Taal and the other of Goulpes, offering support and blessings on this dark night...
