The Austen Experience 1

“The Austen Experience” is a larp by Atropos studios, that is inspired by the works of Jane Austen (and the movie Austenland and the series Lost in Austen) as well as the tv-show Westworld. It is set in the Android universe and takes place at a Company-owned Austen theme park with AI units and Androids.

Have you ever wished you lived in a different time when things were simpler? Have you ever wanted to be romanced by Mr. Darcy? Have you ever wanted to elope with a handsome, but penniless officer? The Austen Experience is here to make your dreams come true.

Come and live out your very own Austen fantasy in a country estate, with dancing, hearty walks and card-games. Be romanced by your very own Austen hero, supplied by the latest Company technology.

The Austen Experience provides you with your fairytale ending in an Easter setting, ending with the dance of your dreams.

Or, have you ever wished to be a custom made robot or Android? Trained to please a never-ending line of guests, providing them whatever they please – a romantic walk, a scandalous proposal or the answer to their far more reckless or destructive .

 

This is not a larp about a revolution. Android and AI characters may experience glitches, and therefore need “reprogramming” – physical and mental reconditioning for Androids, or played out reprogramming for AIs – but there will not be an uprising at the larp.

What: A Jane Austen theme park larp.
When: Run 1: From 1 PM on 3 April 2025 to 11 AM on 6 April 2025.
Run 2: From 1 pm 7 April 2025 to 11 AM on 10 April 2025.
Where: Rockelstad slott outside Flen. There will be a bus organised to and from the larp from the bus terminal by Stockholm Central. Tickets will be sold separately.
Language: The larp will be played in English.
Sleeping: Sleeping will be done in-game in one of three houses. The Heroes will sleep in dormitories or bedrooms with a maximum of five beds. Heroines will sleep in bedrooms with up to four people in one room. All other groups will sleep in rooms for 2–5 people.
Accessibility: The larp takes place on two floors of several historic houses. The houses have steps leading up to them, and the upper floors are not wheelchair accessible.

Standard ticket: €500
Subsidised ticket: €400
Sponsor ticket: €700
Helpers: Free, regardless of if you are part of the kitchen, GM or Park team. You will have to organize your own transport to the larp.
Special ticket (only a few available): Play the same Hero character at both runs. €800 in total.
