The Journey 

It is June in the year of Our Lord 1615. The Spaniards are fighting in the Duchy of Mantua against Charles Emmanuel of Savoy, with the reluctant help of men and money provided by Cosimo II, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and are trying to recruit mercenaries along the way. The Savoyards appear to be at a stalemate with their French allies, while troops from the Viceroyalty of Spain, supported by the papacy, are moving toward the Luserna Valley to support the Catholic cause in the fight against the spreading Protestantism in the region and to defend Mantua's territories from the Savoyard offensive. Tensions continue to rise in the Holy Roman Empire between the Protestants and the Catholic Emperor, but neither side has seemingly taken a position in the Italian conflict, leaving the question of whether there will be another force involved. Meanwhile, the newly recognized Dutch Republic, the United Provinces, strives to maintain an unstable peace with Spain, which is always ready to demand tribute. Each step that brings men closer to the Piedmontese territories makes the roads less safe. Well known are the plots hatched in the past by Charles Emmanuel I, capable of turning nobles against their rulers, in a chessboard where even knights, in the right hands, can become pawns.

It will be possible to arrive at the event from 1:00 PM on June 27th. 

The event will start on the morning of Saturday, June 28th at 10:30 AM.

Il Viaggio 

Siamo nel Giugno dell’anno del Signore 1615, gli spagnoli combattono nel Ducato di Mantova contro Carlo Emanuele di Savoia, con l’aiuto di uomini e denaro, ceduti contro voglia da Cosimo II Gran Duca di Toscana e cercando di reclutare mercenari sulla strada. I savoiardi sembrano essere in una situazione di stallo con l’alleato francese, mentre truppe dal Vicereame di Spagna, con l’appoggio del papato, si muovono verso la valle di Luserna per supportare la causa cattolica nella lotta contro il protestantesimo dilagante nella zona e difendere i territori di Mantova dall’offesa savoiarda. Nel Sacro Romano Impero crescono sempre di più le tensioni tra i protestanti ed il cattolico imperatore, ma nessuna delle due parti si è apparentemente schierata nel conflitto Italiano, lasciando il dubbio se ci sarà da considerare un’altra parte in campo, mentre la neo riconosciuta Repubblica Olandese, le Province Unite, cerca di mantenere un’instabile pace con la Spagna sempre pronta a chiederle un tributo. Ogni passo che avvicina gli uomini ai territori piemontesi rende le strade meno sicure, ben noti sono i complotti orditi in passato da Carlo Emanuele I, in grado di destare nobili contro i propri regnanti, in una scacchiera dove anche i cavalieri, nelle mani giuste, posso diventar pedoni.

preference must not be dictated by pure fantasy, but by his own abilities and the will to test himself, all accompanied by an equipment that reflects the character in which he chose to identify himself (a nobleman cannot be badDressed, a knight will have to have the right armament, etc ...).

The scenarios can be different: a banquet, an evening in the tavern, a tournament, a siege, a battle, etc ... during the events everyone is free to live more or less actively the situation (formally called "scene"), as if we were talking about protagonists and extras of a show without script.A cardinal principle of the activity is that each action must be truly accomplished, without any fiction;The only limits are linked to some combat and physical comparison dynamics to preserve the safety of the participants.

Everyone is free to bring their knowledge and ability into life within the scene, but it is not possible to pretend to have them by pure interpretation: it is useless to imagine a blacksmith, if you do not have the skills to support the choice, butYou can decide to want to acquire them, for example becoming the apprentice of a true craftsman during an event!

growth takes place through the activity, which is at the same time a vehicle for the expression of one's talents and the possibility of expanding one's skills and knowledge.

The limits to the immail are therefore cars imposed by the interpretative choice, by the consciousness of itself and in part by the historical period.
