Welcome to The Icarus Foundation, a LARP that delves deep into how people react when confronted with extreme circumstances and hard truths. As tension rises, hidden secrets come to light and every relationship is pushed to its breaking point. Will you stand by your principles, or sacrifice them for survival?

The year is 1972, the elite of society who make up the charity organisation called the Icarus Foundation have gathered at a remote venue for a surrealist ball - an evening of luxury, decadence, and spectacle awaits. But behind the glamorous masks, something far darker lurks. What the guests don’t realise is that they will soon become the centre of a carefully planned hostage situation.

At the heart of the game is a group of seemingly ordinary people who, after suffering great personal injustice at the hands of the Icarus Foundation’s members, have decided to take matters into their own hands. They are not seasoned criminals, but desperate individuals seeking justice in a world where the wealthy and powerful always seem to escape accountability. This is their last, reckless attempt to set things right.

Rather than action-packed escapes or physical confrontations, The Icarus Foundation is all about intense, psychological drama. It’s a game where the real tension comes from the relationships between characters and the personal struggles they face. Every conversation matters, and every choice can tip the balance of power, exposing hidden truths and pushing characters to their emotional limits. The aim of this larp isn’t breaking free from captors but navigating the mental and emotional challenges that arise when people are pushed to their breaking point.

Think of it as a collision between the intense, psychological thrills of Eyes Wide Shut and the sharp tension of Casa de Papel (Money Heist). The main inspiration of the surrealist ball is inspired by the famous 1972 Rothschild event.

Captors and hostages alike must navigate the emotional and psychological pressure of this unfolding crisis. How far will you go to protect what you hold dear? And when everything is on the line, what - or who - are you willing to sacrifice?
